Oh the places we'll go

Between a hotdog stand in the mountain mining town of Creede and a city park in the fertile valley of Delta we have seen some of the most spectacular geographical features of Colorado. I'm speechless to describe the views from the top of Wolf Creek Pass,
the diverse geology and culture of Durango, and the commanding Swiss Alp-like mountains of Ouray, so instead I'll introduce you to some of the silly things and phenomenal people we have met along the way that have made this route more scenic than any trip behind a dashboard.

"Oh the people we'll meet".

Tom and Wendy...

At the base of Wolf Creek pass, they fed us, put us up with all the luxuries a cyclist needs (a shower and warm bed!), provided entertainment on their refurbished party bus and moonlight raft ride on the Rio Grande. The story of how all this came to be is a pretty cool one that we'll have to save for another day.

Andy and Amy....

A sweet logger and nurse who provided the best plot of land to sleep on, great company around a camp fire, and coffee and encouragement on the morning to send us on our way.

Tom and Linda.....

Caley's parents met us in Durango and rescued us from a storm on Coal Bank Pass, treated us to a Mexican dinner , soak in the hotsprings, and a refuge in Ouray!

Meeting new friends is a blast... Seeing familiar faces is medicine for the soul.

Here's a taste of a few more of our random adventures along the way...

Leaving Delta and headed toward Carbondale over Maclure Pass today.
Happy Monday!!!!
