Day 5-6

Yesterday we took a therapeutic rest afternoon in lovely Lake City. Highlights included drinking coffee, eating yogurt, and washing our clothes at the laundromat. We also met a fellow bicycle tourist, Robert, who was headed from Taos to Crested Butte before taking a train back to his home in PA. After resting our bodies a bit, we ventured up Slumgullion Pass despite the warnings from two ladies at the laundromat that there was moose, extreme cold, and mushrooms so poisonous that if you looked at them you'd die. The pass was steep but we managed creatively (video to follow when we figure out how to post it).

We slept well, never looked at a mushroom, but did enjoy a visit from a friendly moose while we ate our breakfast. We've rolled a beautiful 44 miles so far today and are currently enjoying The Best Little Dog House in Creede.

We plan to end up near South Fork tonight to rest up before climbing Wolf Creek Pass tomorrow.
